              In the Nursery November 2008

Hopes were high of a good season in the nursery. Some new plants were ordered
for selling and orders were on the increase for hanging baskets and containers.
Everybody was looking forward to a good season.  Alas, the weather never got
going which had a marked affect on sales. Begonias definitely are the plant to
withstand the bad weather; maybe a wee bit slow in flowering but well worth
waiting for.

The Flower & Food Festival at Camperdown was a huge success. Our stand was
well received and did brisk sales for the three days.  Well done Margaret & Hazel.
Hazel had 3 minutes of fame at the flower show, she was interviewed by BBC
Reporting Scotland and by Radio Tay with Bill Torrence on the Sunday.

Our attendance at the local farmer's market continues, although the weather
always appears to be worse on market days.(Saturday) all credit to the hardy
customers who turn up on market days and support the "Market" One of the best
sellers has been the hybrid cauliflower "Romanesco" which has created a great
deal of interest.
