The Speckled Hen
The first three months have now passed since opening and things are
settling down
.  Staff are being trained and hygiene certificates being
worked at.  Some great tray bakes now on offer to the customers. New
soup tried out along with a range of fillings for the toasties and panins.
Baked potatoes with fillings also available.  Smoothies made with fresh
fruit are a treat not to be missed. The Farm Shop now has a meat fridge
with a range of tasty Aberdeen Angus meat available. A selection of
frozen fruit for desert or jam making is always available in our freezers.
A craft corner features various cushions, decorative bags and wood
items also on the shelves.

A good opening night and Hogmany Ceilidh
 was a great success with
nearly a hundred friends and neighbours joining in the party. Live music
for dancing made sure the evening went with a swing.  Songs from
Margaret Thompson, highland dancing from Stacy Pirrie and party
pieces from Graham Campbell, Lew Stott ensured that the evening
brought in the New Year in good spirits.  The official opening was done
by Stewart McGlynn, ex Deputy Lord Provost of Angus and introduced
by Ken Scott in his usual cheery style.
